Fuel injection was cool for a hot minute in my 1997 dodge ram 1500 but they dont make a functional crank sensor for the 5 speed v8 model anymore (just chinese trash not even rated for the right ref voltage), and I got tired of them burning out in a week or less so I pulled the EFI system out of it, put in a 1977 distributor and a 4 pin GM HEI ignition module and presto, I had a decent truck again with a 4 barrel carb and a performance manifold to go with the headers. Between the 5 speed transmission and the carb'd engine, my truck is now immune to shit tier car thieves and I can hop in it and just go if I pull the hiding in plain sight choke knob. No plans to go back to injection. Nice pinto though.

This is a very old video. So if you are still there, what do I do so that I don't have to put pliers on the starter relay each time I need to start my scooter? My relay is brand new. All the probe lights, test correctly so what is next? If the scooter starts with the pliers, what does that mean? I don't know what to do next.

Thanks for the info! I am trying to help a neighbor with his kymco people 150. I turn the key but no lights or gauges work. I can bypass the electric start and the scooter starts. Any help you can provide would be appreciated. I have positive light from battery to relay. I don’t get a light when squeezing the brake and pressing start button. I’ve looked at brake cables and they appear to be intact…

Very interesting insights. If I get a professional to look at and adjust everything like you did, would I really still be saving any money on this compared to a 50cc from a more reputable company? I have a feeling I wouldn't. Also you should set a good example by wearing a helmet no matter how short a trip you go on.

YOU, SIR are an awesome instructor, with clear audio and camera work. My Genuine Motor Company "Buddy 50" is having starting issues, such as depicted, but I can always get it going my using the kickstart. Apparently, I've the same problem, the valve clearance, which I'll have addressed, but I'd like to know WHY it would start with the kickstart without even depressing the START button??????? MANY THANKS!

Yaay! I'm so excited your doing this with a buddy 150! That's exactly what I'm working on! This one has been sitting for at least 3-5 years so I'm dealing with a lot of terminal corrosion. I just got the starter to turn over, but it is not happy about it, it does one single revolution then catches again.

Is it cheeseball? Yep. Is it helpful? Yep, if it is not helpful, your probably not working on a scooter. On a serious note, you won't find a more useful diagnostic video anywhere on earth. If these videos don't get you where you need to go. Maybe don't try, try again, or do who tf am I to say. 👍

Wow ! New motor? If you took out the motor instead of taking off plastic. Another 20 minutes you could replace the crank. lol crazy.

Here on 8/3/24.. Still beneficial.. just did my first fuel pump change on my "new" k4 GSXR 1000.. THANK YOU FOR THIS THOROUGH VIDEO! Bike only has 14,000 miles and after opening it looked recently done, but wanted ease of mind. I got stranded last Sunday and hoping this (plus coolant flush, Regulator/Rectifier, turn/side stand relay, and side stand bypass) do the trick!

These door speakers have a common failure mode due to water dripping off the window (inside the door) onto the diaphragm of the speaker and eventually rusts the part where the diaphragm is glued. Instead of replacing mine I used a bunch of super glue where it was separated and it mostly solved it. I can't tell if my door is rattling or if the speaker is still farting a little. Either way, it's good to address these at the same time as working on the mirrors. I love the "fish-tape" tip people have been leaving so you don't have to snake the wire back around the window track. (If you haven't seen those comments, before you pull the old mirror out, attach a cord to it so you can use the cord to pull the new wiring through the same old path during installation.
